What is Insight Machine, in a nutshell?
In one sentence — it's a platform for profitable business growth (RGM) plus our experts. The platform brings 10 RGM tools into a single loop — from price and promo to assortment and channels — while the experts help your team turn data into decisions. You see not just numbers, but what to do about them.
Is it a platform or expert work?
Both — it's always the pairing of "Platform + experts". The platform itself runs on your data and models "what if…" scenarios. Our RGM experts tune it to fit you, train your team and stay close. Technology without people quickly goes stale; people without technology work slower — together they're stronger.
How are you different from consulting?
Consulting leaves behind a report and a deck — once the project ends, they look impressive on the shelf but change nothing on their own. We leave a working tool (the Platform) that your team uses every day, plus our experts — as reinforcement, not as a replacement for you.
How is this different from Tableau, Power BI or Nielsen?
Tableau and Power BI display data beautifully, but don't answer the question "what to do". Nielsen and the like give you market numbers, but no scenarios. Our Platform + experts pairing goes further: built-in scenario modeling ("what happens if we raise price by 5%, drop an SKU or reallocate promo") plus live help from the team in making the actual decision.

About data
What data do you need from us?
To get started — your sales (by SKU, channel, region), price and promo history, basic category data. Ideally 24 months of data. If you have market share, elasticities, competitor data — great. We'll send the full list after the first call.
What if our data is a mess — scattered across different Excel files and formats?
That's normal, and nothing to worry about — we've seen dozens of cases like this. We sort out messy, fragmented data ourselves: we clean it and consolidate it into a single layer. It's part of the project, not a separate paid service.
What about confidentiality?
We sign an NDA as soon as the meeting is scheduled. Data is stored in a secure environment, with access limited to the project team. When the project ends we'll return or delete it — whichever you prefer.
Do we need to change our IT infrastructure?
No. The Platform works on top of your data without replacing your sources. We connect through standard connectors (CSV, SQL, API) or via a regular scheduled export.
About the team and the work
Who exactly will work with us?
It depends on the format, but it's always Platform + experts — only the depth of people's involvement changes. On "Optimum" our team rolls out the Platform and trains your analysts, then you work on your own with support on request. On "Optimum + Experts" we add regular sessions with our RGM experts. On "Optimum Pro" we embed with you as your full-fledged RGM function.
Who's accountable for the result?
Every project has a dedicated lead on our side — one of the founders or a senior RGM expert. They're accountable for quality and timelines, and we agree the key metrics with you before we even start.
What's your team like?
Decades of hands-on work in strategy, marketing and data. Founders — Coca-Cola (22 years in RGM and strategy) and FMCG marketing (30 years: Coca-Cola, Bonaqua, Powerade, Absolut, Martell, Kozel, Chernogolovka). Data Science — Nestlé, Barclays, Expedia. Scientific advisor — an Oxford PhD candidate in machine learning.
About timelines and impact
How quickly will we see a first result?
First signals and growth opportunities — usually within 2–4 weeks after the start, once the Platform is tuned to your data. Full rollout and training — 2–4 months. For comparison: building your own RGM function from scratch takes 18–24 months.
What if it doesn't work?
We'll be honest. First we look at your data in a diagnostic (2–4 weeks, fixed price). If we don't see where you can grow — we'll say so and won't continue. That's rare, but we say it upfront so you take no risk.
Can we start with a single category?
Yes, and many do — it's a quick result and a way to test the hypothesis. Then we expand across the whole portfolio.
About money
How much does it cost?
There are three formats — "Optimum" (Platform + support on request), "Optimum + Experts" (Platform + regular work with RGM experts) and "Optimum Pro" (an embedded RGM function). We quote the exact cost on request — after a short diagnostic, once the scope is clear. That way the figure is honest and fitted to your task, not some "average".
Can we pay "for results"?
In the standard formats — no: we work at a fixed rate, which is more predictable for both you and us. On large projects we can add pay-for-performance (a success fee) — a percentage on hitting agreed goals; discussed case by case.
